Garage Arts Project began in the most unassuming of places - a garage in Plano, TX. Founded by Renuka Rajagopalan, what started as a small gathering of just eight people in her garage dance studio quickly revealed something profound. That evening of Afro-Cuban music and dance showed how intimate, thoughtfully curated experiences could transform the way people connect with art and with each other.
From that spark, GAP has grown into a vibrant community of artists, audiences, and collaborators. What began as one garage concert has become a platform dedicated to supporting diverse performing artists, creating opportunities to network, collaborate, and advance their work. Yet, the spirit of that first evening remains at our core, which is: art experienced up close, personal, and shared. GAP continues to nurture that sense of intimacy and discovery, while expanding its reach across the DFW Metroplex and beyond.
Garage Arts Project (GAP) is a 501 C(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing an intimate and immersive platform for artists and audiences to foster creativity and goodwill, increase appreciation of the arts, and strive for better cultural understanding.
